Lets Go Shopping!
So in between selling our home, searching for our new 4 wheeled home and actually deciding where we want to travel to first, I have been researching a whole load of "travelling essentials" and as much as people say to "travel light", i feel like with 3 of us and 2 dogs, its going to be a bit difficult but hopefully not impossible π€ Our 4 wheeled home is going to be a proper 4 berth motor home, not a VW Camper sort of thing, as nice as they are, but we need space and proper facilities so a motor home seems to be more suited and seeing as we're starting our journey in the winter, I want proper heatingπ .
First and foremost lets cover the travelling essentials to keep an 8 year old occupied (this is the difficult part π¬). Tyler is a bit of a technology geek, he loves watching YouTube, playing roblox and all the rest of it, so i was looking at getting a Wi-Fi dongle sort of thing, we haven't decided for definite yet but we will more then likely go down this route as it will come in handy for me to do my blog writing on the laptop too π Apart from relying on the old internet for entertainment, I have been thinking of other ways to keep Tyler occupied. As much as he loves all things on the internet he equally enjoys board games and drawing. He's actually quite good at the drawing (definitely takes after his dad for that, my artistic skills are non - existent!)
As for mine and Michaels "essential list" we get all the boring things! Portable washing lines, travel wash, laundry bags etc. BORING!!! I won't go into detail about all that, to be honest it's mostly just common sense stuff. For anyone, who is mad like us, and is travelling through the winter months I feel like these are good, warm essentials to have;
- Hot water bottles
- Electric heated blanket (it's probably not essential but doesn't it sound cosy!)
- Fluffy throws (I'm a sucker for a big comfy throw!)
- Thermal clothing i.e coats, jumpers, socks etc.
- Hats, scarves and gloves
- Umbrella (not looking forward to the rain, i have to admit)
- Plenty of gas bottles to keep that heat going!
- Waterproof coats for the pups (if they're joining you on your travels, of course)
- Microfiber towels (easy to dry)
I have created Amazon lists though. It feels like a good place to start! And I have posted both amazon links to our lists below for you to have a peek at and, hopefully, get some ideas for yourselves! I haven't quite finished yet but it's just a brief idea π
Now our shopping baskets are filled (almost) it's time for the hard work to begin. Actually finding our new 4 wheeled home! π ... On to the next chapter we go... Stay Tuned π
